The grind is a hybrid, I call it double helix but it is basically a slightly modified saber grind. The name refers to the concave/convex nature of the grind and when viewed in cross section looks like the intersection of 2 helical planes, thus double helix. This blade design offers the ability to hold an incredibly sharp edge and the secondary grind (micro bevel) can be quickly sharpened in the field. Edge durability suffers minimally but is a non factor if you don't use your knife for chopping like an axe, battoning with the grain (splitting kindling) is 100% good. Battoning cross grain to fell green saplings even hard wood is also fine if done with care.

Another beautiful, weighty, hand-crafted knife. I have purchased several knives from this seller, and they have all been attractive, well-made, and functional. The leather sheath is handsome and stitched well, with a hand stamped border design. The full tang is smooth and ideal for striking sparks, but without the artist's signature tool markings. Very well-made knives in general, and unbeatable at this price.

Lovely knife. Excellent quality and build. Great for bushcrafting and camping needs. Although, I would recommend some epoxy under the handle, as after a few weeks of abuse it has come loose. The sheath is perfect. Fits smaller sized ferro rods.
