Haute Pockets Double Oven Mitt is a practical project to make a long, two pocket pot holder. It can be as long as you need, to wrap around your hot dishes and set on your table. It also doubles as a mini table runner or just a great trivet to set your pots on. I have a short one to put my remote controls in, which sits on the arm of my sofa!
The pocket is made with our Folded Star Stencil tool, making assembly of the star a quick and fun process. The Stencil is available on ETSY at our store, but you can make the hot pad with a diagram included in the pattern. If you've ever made the Folded Star Hot Pad with PlumEasy's technique this will remind you of that.
This pattern has been tested by a number of sewers and every one made it successfully. It will take about 5-6 hours for a beginner, but if you're a seasoned sewer, much less time.
I hope you'll give it a try. I've made lots of them and have enjoyed sewing them. I even made a shoulder burp cloth with a pocket for a pacifier, and it's really cute.
