This is the ACTUAL PATTERN which was original purchased via the mail.
Mail Order sewing pattern to MAKE A 16 inch doll of Popeye
Originally ordered from Parade Magazine in 1981 - Pattern #729
Pattern is UNCUT and the only writing on the envelope and front is that it is a 16" Popeye. You can buy it and sell copies, if you please as it's copyright date has expired.

GENERAL INFO: We will use Media Mail (the lowest price and longest (2-9 business days)) service for written materials such as books and records and all allowable items in this category (see USPS page). We will always pay the extra .20 cents so you can have a tracking number. Depending on the weight, other items will be shipped either FEDEX (2-7 days), USPS Priority Mail (1-3 days) or UPS (Rarely) whichever is the lower price. We do not intend to make any money and try not to lose too much money on shipping. USPS INTERNATIONAL DELIVERY is generally 6-10 Days. There is NO insurance on USPS 1st Class International, if YOU (the buyer) wants to insure a package, please let us know upon purchase so we can inform you of the additional cost to insure it.

EXPEDITED SHIPPING: We can oblige you with one day shipping, however, You (the BUYER) are responsible for all costs over and above the shipping we have included in your price. YOU must let us know you need it expedited before we ship as unfortunately we are not psychics :). You will be contacted with the cost before we ship, so you know the total cost for your package before it is shipped.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING is of a greater loss if we do not get close to the correct amount, which of course is impossible unless we know where the item is going. If you see a number that is ridiculously low or high, please contact us before buying. If your country is not listed, you will see all $9s, which is only a placeholder. Please contact us immediately and we will respond within 24 hours (weekdays,48 on weekends) with the appropriate shipping cost. PLEASE leave us an address to research, not just a country. This way you can make an informed decision on your total purchase price. ALL OTHER FEES, CUSTOMS, TAXES, VAT, IMPORT, BROKERAGE OR ANY MONEY BY ANY NAME ARE 100% THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY. ANY ITEM WHICH IS NOT BRAND NEW WILL BE LISTED AS A USED ITEM, WHICH MOST VINTAGE ITEMS ARE.


INSURANCE: We will buy extra insurance for any item over $300.00. If you would like to add insurance for a lower priced item, please notify us when ordering and we will find the cost for it. Please know, most of our items are one of a kind and will not be able to replace it.

PACKAGING: We use recycled and purchased materials to protect your item and help keep the landfills a little less full. We take great pride and time in packaging your item, to ensure it reaches you in the same condition as it left here. We are not responsible if an item is lost or broken. See next section.


We will accept a direct deposit into our Paypal account If you prefer, please use a Credit Card. We will accept a personal check or cashiers checks, however, we will need to wait until it clears before we can ship the item.

All cancellations must be made within 24 hours (7 days a week) of placement and before it is mailed, as defined by the system clock-stamp. A 10% re-stocking fee will be retained if an order is not cancelled within 24 hours. If it was mailed already, you will be responsible for postage to mail it back (unopened).

Because of the nature of these items, unless they arrive damaged or defective, I can't accept returns for:

Conditions of return
Buyers are responsible for return shipping costs. If the item is not returned in its original condition, the buyer is responsible for any loss in value.
Additional return information
GENERAL: Please keep in mind, you are buying TRUE VINTAGE, even if it is described "Like New", I am telling you it is like new ~20 years ago. Unless I say BRAND NEW, then PLEASE keep in mind that this is a vintage shop and everything is a minimum of 20 years old. Nothing is vintage inspired. So, look at the untouched pictures and use the measurements when you are looking at these items and remember they REALLY are OLD. :)

RETURNS: IN GENERAL, WE DO NOT ACCEPT RETURNS (Although we do have some exceptions-see below) and you will be refunded in full only if the item DOES NOT meet our description. If the return is due to our (the Seller) error, we will pay return shipping, else, you (the Buyer) will be responsible for return shipping including protective packaging. The returning item must be post-marked within 7 business days of receipt. Once received and inspected, your refund will be issued in the same method as paid.

UNLESS the problem is due to our mistake, we will pay return shipping and refund you in full once we receive the item and verify the content(s). We will refund it the same way it as was paid with (i.e., Paypal, etc.). We will provide you with a label.

THE ONLY RETURN EXCEPTIONS ARE: Shoes and/or clothing which includes the following items only: jackets, shirts, sweaters, slacks or pants, dresses and shoes - we will accept returns with the following conditions: A) the item must be in THE EXACT SAME CONDITION AS SHOWN IN PHOTOS when purchased. B) You (the buyer) are responsible to pay for return postage and all fees (if applicable), use the same shipping company as received. C) Supply a tracking number to us and D) the return process must be initiated within 7 days of receipt. Please remember that SIZES HAVE CHANGED over time, so USE THE MEASUREMENTS to compare with one of your garments. Any additional measurements you would like, just ask!
IN EVERY CASE OF A POSSIBLE RETURN WE MUST be notified of your intention to return WITHIN 3 days of receipt. Please notify us upon purchase (I.e. - tell us it is a gift and will not be given to the person for a week after purchase) that the 3 days will not work for you. Clothing cannot be returned once worn. Also, if we do not know if an electronic item works, we will not state it. When an item is sealed, we have no way to know if it works or not. Please DO NOT ASSUME a 20 year old item, such as a watch, or battery, will work, when in a sealed package.

INSURANCE: Generally, insurance most carriers have protects you and extra insurance is not purchased. If a carrier looses a package, we both lose. If a package arrives DAMAGED, BE SURE to get your carrier to MARK THAT IT WAS DELIVERED DAMAGED. If you do not get them to do this, minimally, take a photo of the package before you open it and save all packaging materials. This photograph, may mean the difference between a refund and no refund. We understand catching your postal carrier can be a heck of a challenge if not impossible. We are repeating exactly what it states in the USPS guide regarding "having your carrier mark the package". They will not accept liability and you will be responsible. If we did everything right, paid the post office their fees and it is tracked to your door, we cannot be held responsible. If you want insurance added, please notify us before paying and we will let you know the cost of adding it. USPS 1st Class (under 13 ounces) DOES NOT carry any insurance, only Priority mail and above does. Any item over $300 will be insured and signature delivery will be added and we (the SELLER) will pay for it (USA ONLY). The good news is we have mailed over 3000 packages now and only two were lost and never found.
NOTE: Some carriers have been marking items delivered before they are actually delivered, so please don't panic until your item is more than at least three days late. Each time this has occurred the package shows up within a day or two. Your local post office is your best friend and point of contact if a package does not get to you. Your tracking number was sent to you in an email when shipped and is also noted online with your purchase receipt if you misplaced it We will help you as much as possible, however, we have absolutely no control over the carriers, no more than you. Depending on the carrier, we (buyer and/or seller) should begin the process to open the case up within 7 days of non-receipt after established delivery date has passed. Please do not count holidays and always add an extra day when shipping around a holiday, as the mail seems to back up when they take one day off. Consider going to your post office on the 4th day of non-receipt with your tracking number. It was mailed from 95624 in the USA. We hope this answers most of your questions about shipping and issues generally arising about shipping.

The one thing we can NOT do is absorb the shipping money. The CARRIER takes all of (and more), so we will not be able to refund your original shipping nor the return shipping (as you may be aware, we do not keep any shipping money and usually lose $).

Additional policies

We can guarantee you that we will do our best to describe and picture all items and any flaws in or on them. If any item is not as described, please contact us immediately upon receipt of the item. PLEASE REQUEST MORE PICTURES if you are unsure about an item. We usually have more available. The reason for so many pictures is so that you can see all sides of the item. We painstakingly detail items for you, sometimes too much. We list all sizes and measurements of clothing/shoes for you to virtually try them on. Please take note of those measurements, as we do all of this extra work to avoid you getting something you do not like or does not fit.

Please remember we are humans though and we may make a mistake, please contact us if anything is wrong or not as stated.

Expedited Handling - please be sure to add this in the comments to the seller section of your order form. If it's on a weekend, send us a conversation email as well.

ADDRESSES must be changed within the ETSY "create an account" part of the software for correct processing. Please do not put a different ship to: address in the comments section, we cannot make changes like this to the SHIP TO: Address.
ALSO, SHIPPING ADDRESSES MUST BE IN ENGLISH and on the correct lines as labeled - At this time 1/05/2018, ETSY still allows you to enter an address in any language, however, when we try to ship it, the system will not allow us to print a label. If you are 12 hours difference than us, getting this accurate has caused up to 5 days delay. PLEASE use google translate or any other translator you prefer to understand where each piece of information needs to be on the label.
