HAVE A LITTLE PLAY EXPLORE THE ASTOUNDING CHARACTERISTICS OF THIS ‘NEW’ 2000 YEAR OLD PAINT
This is the exact paint artists held in their hands in Greco Roman antiquity. And it's pretty special.
Manufactured with pure beeswax, it's water soluble and non toxic. Use it pure to create thick impastos or dilute it to the consistency of water colours. Use it on pretty much every surface including wet or uncured lime or cement mortar.
And you don't need any heat to apply this paint, like you when using conventional encaustic artist medium. Just add water if you would like a thinner consistency, and marvel how the colours stay just as strong as they are in the undiluted state.
DaVinci failed to get this lost formula right for his Battle of Anghiari, but thanks to the perseverance of the Cuní family, this paint is now back after 2000 years.
Cuní colours can be blended with acrylic, oil (both conventional and water-mixable), watercolour, casein and egg, glue and gum tempera colours and media.
