The Pantheon in Rome is one of my favorite buildings and I've always been fascinated by the coffered ceiling. So I decided to create a woven scarf pattern in honor of this great building of antiquity. The pattern is written for weaving on a rigid heddle loom, using one pick-up stick to create the coffered effect. It looks more difficult than it is. If you can count picks, you can make this scarf!
For the warp, I used a DK weight silk bamboo commercial yarn, but you can use any DK or worsted weight yarn. For the weft, I used bulky weight yarn that I spun myself, but you can use any weight yarn of your choosing.
The length of this scarf is 40 inches/101.5 cm, because that's all the weft yarn I spun. If you'd like to weave a longer scarf, be sure to purchase enough yarn to complete your project.
As with all my patterns, I want you to have fun and end up with a great result. If you have any questions as you work on the design, please Email me at the address given on the pattern. I'm always ready to help my buyers!
