Item details

Squirrel Girl, Squirrel Girl. She’s a human and also a squirrel. Can she climb up a tree? Yes she can, easily. That’s why her name is Squirrel Girl! Is she tough? Listen bud: She’s got partially squirrel blood… Find some nuts, eat some nuts, kick some bad guys’ evil butts!

Squirrel Girl is basically unbeatable, having defeated Kraven the Hunter, Galactus, and an evil Asgardian squirrel called Ratatoskr. (No kidding. It’s a Norse legend. It made all the Avengers super mad at each other.) She’s got sidekicks with rhyming animal names and is a member of the New Avengers!

But Squirrel Girl is definitely not Doreen Green, regular Computer Science student at college who just happens to have a conspicuously large and conspicuously awesome butt (which is definitely not a tail tucked into her pants).

This cross stitch pattern is the perfect home décor piece for lovers of this kick ass comic book superhero and her snappy catchphrase! The stitched area will be approx 2 inches wide by 2.5 inches high (5.1cm x 6.4cm), and fits easily in a 4 inch (10cm) embroidery hoop. Your finished design would also look lovely in a frame, as a large patch, or any other way you choose!

The pattern uses 10 colours and is best stitched onto 14 count white aida cloth. I recommend this pattern for a beginner, as it features whole stitches and simple backstitches. If this is your first project, check out my FAQs for links to some super-helpful how-to videos!

Please note, this is for a PDF download of the pattern, and not a physical product. The pattern file(s) will be available after cleared payment for immediate download, along with a DMC and Anchor embroidery floss colour legend. Due to variations in screen resolution and printers, colours may vary from those displayed, however the floss colour itself is beautiful together. Unfortunately I am not able to offer refunds on digital download purchases.

For those new to cross stitch, I recommend this video tutorial from Yarn Tree to learn the full cross (the most basic, X looking one) and backstitch (the lines): http://youtu.be/mr_LfGr1v0E My favourite french knot tutorial (the one I learned on!) is from fellow cross stitch pattern-maker, Wee Little Stitches: http://youtu.be/M6HHmMPV3vE When starting a stitch using an even number of threads, I prefer the easy and time saving loop method. You can learn it here: http://youtu.be/HLxIYeZJHeE
