Item details

Getting DIY inner tube patches made from scrap worn out inner tubes to stick, either to a backing to store for use when you need to patch or to the inner tube needing patching itself can be more ticklish than patching with factory-made tube patches. This pressure roller makes it that much more likely that your DIY inner tube patches will stay where you want them. If you still use factory-made patches, it can also be used on them, too.

This simple roller is intended to apply pressure from your palm into the rubber of the patch, concentrating the pressure wherever the roller happens to be contacting the rubber. Rolling back and forth with the palm allows for several concentrated, even presses of the patch in rapid succession.

This roller is hand-formed from a downed urban-forest branch and finished with multiple coats of linseed oil. May the tree that cast it continue to shade its realm of street and sidewalk still many years!

This item does NOT include patches or inner tube, not even McCyclist's palm to make it work: YOU are the Y in DIY!

If you're new to patching inner tubes with DIY patches from inner tube discards, McCyclistsWorks has items to help you get started:
