Size: 50"x60" Boston Uncommon Lap Quilt is made with half-hexagons that are pieced together to give the look of a full hexagon. My technique provides fast sewing and simple strip piecing that requires no Y seams. It is a very fun quilt to make and you'll want to make several.
You will need an assortment of 2.5" strips, and a jelly roll is perfect for this. Plus you will need background and border fabrics. Yardage requirements are shown in the second image.
This pattern has complete instructions on how to layout your quilt and make the middle section float like the original Boston Commons quilt design. It is PlumEasy's style to give sewers the information they need to understand and make the project you've paid for. With Boston Uncommon, we have gone a step further and have instructions on using a design wall and numbered columns to stay organized, and then have a surprise ending with two tone borders and binding.
Level: Confident beginner or intermediate sewer
I recommend my Half-Hexie Ruler to cut your fabric, which is on my QuiltingbyDeborah site.
