Item details

Phebe Mitchell was found in an antique shop in West Dennis, Massachusetts. It possibly could be a Nantucket sampler as there were many Mitchells on the island, but research speculates that possibly she was from New Brunswick, Canada-just across Cape Cod Bay. She may have summered there or may have gone to school there. Nonetheless, it is a charming child’s first marking sampler that shows how adept she was at making such fine small stitches. It would be delightful on any home’s wall.
This is a full color cross stitch graph for a small sampler that is 7-3/8 inch X 7-1/8 inch stitched on 14 count natural linen.
