Item details

HERE IS A SOLID BRASS RIMLOCK MADE IN USA IN THE 1940'S BY RUSSWIN. THESE ARE "NEW OLD STOCK" AND HAVE NEVER BEEN INSTALLED. THEY WERE INTENDED TO USE FOR SHIP CABIN DOORS ON FREIGHTERS BEING CONVERTED TO TROOP CARRIERS (AT THE NEW JERSEY SHIPYARDS) DURING WWII. EACH RIMLOCK WEIGHS ALMOST 5 POUNDS. BODY OF LOCK MEASURES 4+5/8" X 3+3/4" X 1+1/8". THESE SETS COME COMPLETE WITH MOUNTING BOLTS AND ORIGINAL KEYS. COMPLETELY SOLID BRASS EXCEPT FOR THE KNOB SHAFT, WHICH IS GALVANIZED STEEL. THERE MAY BE VERY SLIGHT DINGS AND SCRATCHES FROM LONG TERM STORAGE. OCCASIONAL SPOTS OF GREEN CORROSION TOO. ALL THIS IS VERY EASILY CLEANED WITH STEEL WOOL OR FINE SANDPAPER. THE ONE IN THE PHOTOS HAS NOT BEEN CLEANED, AND IS A GOOD EXAMPLE OF OVERALL CONDITION. (I have about 5 of these, if you need them)
