We import our DYED yarns from the oldest flax mill in Lithuania. They have been making linen yarns for over 80 years and now employ over 300 people, making it the largest employer in their district. They are proud of their long history with linen and make sure their linen yarns are of the highest quality. They use only the finest and longest flax fiber in their wet spun 'Line' Linen. This ensures a strong, durable, and lustrous fabric. The fiber is spun, plyed, and dyed to the specifications of Vava! Veve!
We import our 'Neutral'-colored yarns from another flax mill in Belgium, which has 300 tons of fiber production and 120 tons of linen yarn production per month for a worldwide market. Their monthly capacity for fiber trading is 1000 tons, putting them at the forefront of the flax fiber market.
Both mills are located in the region of Europe where climate and precipitation come together to provide the richest growing environment for flax found nowhere else in the world. They are also both members of Masters of Linen, the European organization which resides over the quality and pureness, and environmental impacts of the linen, from seed to cloth.
***My mills are the same mills doing business with many popular retail linen yarn sources located in Northern Europe.
We have found that importing our own linen yarn which is made to our own specifications in color, weight, twist, and finishing, is the only way to obtain the highest quality linen yarn and still make prices affordable to the retail market. My goal is to make quality linen much more available by importing it straight from the mills and keeping my mark-up low!
