This PDF pattern creates 3 Sonoran Desert plants quilt blocks:
Saguaro (pieced)
Ocotillo (fusible applique)
Prickly Pear (EPP applique)

Random Desert is an Improv pattern: we will sew first and cut last. There are few exact measures. Rest assured, however, we will “square-up” patches.
Quilt size is also Improv: Join blocks in rows until desired quilt size is achieved. Consider adding your own orphan blocks or panels. Blocks finish 9” high, width is variable.
Pattern includes 3 Design Options for making 1 quilt using all blocks in random order. See, even the quilt assembly is improvisational.
Therefore, Random Desert is recommended for Intermediate level quilting knowledge. If you have ever made a snowball block and if you understand English Paper Piecing, then you are qualified to make these blocks.
Random Desert by RHQ pattern is 7 pages with 10 photo illustrations.

7 green FQ
optional red/purple scrap
red thread
fusible interfacing 2"x4" scrap
5/8" PAPER hexagon forms
background/sky fabric desired quilt size with batting, backing, and binding to match
