This advanced PUKEKO pattern is a fun design of our popular NZ native bird. The pattern has detailed drawings of how to create his cheeky character face, and shows how to use wire in his legs. You will also learn how to layer additional wool where needed to add detail. Pukeko has bent legs with slightly knobbly knees, and sits on a shelf to display his long legs.
The instructions contain lots of detailed drawings to enable you to see exactly how Pukeko is formed, and how to use wire in his legs.
You will need
Wool (I used Blueberry Pie, Chilli Pepper, Liquorice and White)
2 Felting needles, size 36, 40
1 pair 3 mm glass eyes
Thread for mouth
Wire for legs
Cork dot, pin (to secure Pukeko to shelf)
The instructions in this pattern assume that you know the basics of needlefelting, and have already made a beginner bear or other animal. Very brief beginner instructions are included to refresh your memory.
NOTE: the little wooden book in photos 3 & 4 is not for sale.
