I dyed 5 pounds of corriedale roving with sunny yellows, peachy pinks, lavender, spun it all together and plyed it with a fine yellow cotton yarn. soft and squishy.
Every yarn has a story.
February I find myself wanting to spin a new yellow yarn.
February 1st!!! spring is close, here in NE Washington/N Idaho spring is in the air. Robins are back, day light is coming back, the sun is peeking out more frequently, more rain than snow is falling, you can just feel spring is in the air. I think back to our nearly 30 years in Minnesota, where February was still the depths of winter, no relief from the bitter cold and heavy snow till April. It was hard, yet we enjoyed the benefits of this winter wonder land. skiing at mt Frontenac, x-c skiing at a friends place and on the lake, sledding at Clear Lake park, one Valentines day we launched our hot air balloon from and flew to another frozen lake at 7 below !
Now I snow shoe around our 5 acres and dye lots of wool with sunny YELLOWS!
this is my new yarn Sunny Dreams.
the shawl is my pattern Hugs Me. one skein will make it. knit or crochet. request this free pattern when purchasing.
