My newest quilt pattern, The Wind Catcher, was inspired by children I saw flying their kites on a windy day at the beach on Kachemak Bay. You can see the snow capped mountains across the bay even in the summer! There are lupine flowers, sea shells, sanddollars and sea gulls lining the shore on this sunny day. This is a twin size quilt for a little girls room featuring "the little dutch girl" pattern flying her colorful kite along the shore of the ocean. This adorable little girls quilt measures 62 inches by 86 inches. Three blocks make up the center block which features the sky, ocean and beach and measures 36" by 60" and is surrounded by three borders. There are several pattern pieces but they are easy to cut out and arrange on this whimsical quit using fusible web applique. There is a fabric chart included with the pattern along with fabric suggestions or come up with your own ideas. If you are not familiar with using fusible web, you can watch a video on my website at www.kindergardendesigns.com.
