Vintage Ethiopian Detailed Oromo Brass Shield Tribal Pendant Jewelry larger size
Vintage brass shield from the Oromo people of Ethiopia. Commonly used as currency or to decorate saddles & headstalls.
Shield is approx 2 1/8" or 54 mm wide & is approx 7/8" tall. Piece weighs approx 42 grams or 1.5 oz. There is incising going all the way around the bottom. There are 4 holes, 2 on each end. The spacing between the 2 is approx 1/4".
Piece has a nice patina, I have not made any attempt to clean it. The "nipple" leans to one side, see photos.
The older tribal pieces reflect years of loving use. You can expect minor dings & dents. This patina is part of their attraction & beauty.
These are great for making body chains, necklaces, interior decoration & so much more!
US shipping is via insured flat rate priority mail. International shipping is via insured first class mail. Shipping costs are estimated based on weight & size. Any shipping overages $1 and over will be refunded.

Shipping & policies
I have listed flat rate shipping amounts including insurance. I will combine shipping with orders. The US shipping cost is sometimes flat rate priority & sometimes from AZ to Maine, so if you live closer, the shipping costs may be less. I am happy to pack items in flat rate priority boxes if size permits. Orders are shipped within 3 business days unless they are a custom item that must be produced or if shipping via UPS or Fedex Ground. We can ship via USPS on monday through friday. We generally ship UPS or Fedex once weekly. We require insurance for ALL items. We are not responsible for any loss or damage to items while in transit. We are happy to ship overseas & use USPS insured priority international. We will ship to the UK, most EU countries, Japan, Australia & New Zealand. I have shipped to a few other countries, so if you do not live in any of the afore mentioned ones, please contact me. Please be aware that you may be subject to import taxes and duties once the merchandise reaches your country. These additional costs must be borne by you. We have no control over these charges and they vary extensively and change constantly. Due to these facts, we cannot estimate these for you. You should contact your local customs office for further information. Further, you are considered the importer of these goods and are subject to the local laws and regulations. Many countries place restrictions on certain imports while others are banned altogether. Again, please check with you local customs office to determine if the items are subject to any of these before purchasing any item. Any packages that are confiscated or refused by customs are non-refundable just like a refused or non-deliverable package. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but these issues are well beyond anything we can control. Please be aware that we must list the value of an order on the customs form and what its contents are. We cannot declare an incorrect value on your shipment, and all packages must be declared as merchandise, no exceptions. Because international shipments are usually more expensive, we have specific returns guidelines for all international orders.
Damaged / Lost packages - All packages are the responsibility of the shipping carrier once they leave our store. Any claims must be made through that carrier for damage that occurred during shipping or a lost package. Please make sure to have the tracking or insurance number available in order to process a claim with them.
NO refund will be issued for a package marked as undeliverable or refused at delivery.
We accept credit cards and Etsy gift cards. AZ residents are responsible for paying 9.6% sales tax or providing a resale number. We reserve the right to cancel orders when payment is not received within 7 days. We must be notified of your request to cancel your order within 24 hrs of the time it was placed or before it is shipped. Customers may cancel their orders because of the unavailability of a back-ordered item or discontinuance of item.
Returns & exchanges
We can furnish you with the insurance number once your item has shipped. If you receive a damaged package, return it immediately to your Post Office. If an item has been lost in transit, we will initiate a claim, but must wait a minimum of 30 days to file.
All Vampie Oodles purchases are non-refundable, so please check your order carefully.
If you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, please convo or email Vampie Oodles within 10 days and we will exchange it for another product. Vampie Oodles allows one exchange per order. You will be responsible for the return shipping to us & back to you. We will not ship the new product until we receive the item you are exchanging & payment for shipping back to you. Returned items must be in their original condition and must be received by Vampie Oodles within 30 days of your original order.
Custom orders require a non-refundable deposit. We currently have a fairly heavy workload and unable to take on most custom orders at this time, sorry for any inconvenience!
