This is so beautiful! I bought 2 of these in the early 1990's with the ambition to make a cross stitched heirloom for each of my sons... never happened. It has been very carefully stored in my clean, smoke free home. I did a just a few stitches on the corner square, but they have been removed. It still looks brand new. I paid $60 for this from my local cross stitch store.
This lovely afghan is ready for counted cross stitching. It has a woven, linen look. Very soft and warm. I am not exactly sure what the fabric is made from since I no longer have the package. It is an oatmeal like color background (a mix of tan and ivory) There are 12 blocks for cross stitching with a beautiful light brown or darker tan embroidered floral like design between the blocks. The inside of each block is about 7-1/2" x 7-1/2" for stitching. There are 14 boxes to the inch for cross stitching.
There is about 4-1/2" of open space between each of the 12 blocks (You can see this open space in the 3rd photo). The finished size is 67" x 48".
It is ready for you to create your cross stitched heirloom!

A Note About Vintage Items
Items are considered vintage on Etsy if they are at least 20 years old. Many of my items are much older than that. They are rarely, if ever perfect. I describe the items as best I can and try to point out any areas that could be of concern to a buyer. Some signs of wear from the aging process should be expected when purchasing a vintage item. It is part of their charm!
