Item details

Part One:
I made this encased floral bead with it's pale-lavender opalescent center and added swirls of sparkling goldstone glass, and white accent flowers which each have a yellow cubic zirconia in the center. There are two large violet focal flowers which also have a yellow cubic zirconia in the center. The entire design was then wrapped in a thick layer of crystal clear glass, much like a paperweight.

Part Two:
I want my encased floral beads to be gem-like and truly unique! Once the bead is made and has been through an annealing process, I take it to my lapidary equipment. To facet this bead I attached it to a gemstone faceting machine and cut all the facets into the layer of clear glass. On this bead I cut 16 facets. Each facet has gone through 4 or 5 steps from a very rough grind to a super-fine polish. Yes, this is a really time consuming process but I think it's worth the effort.

In Millimeters: 32mm tall x 18.8mm across, with a 2.38mm hole
In Inches: 1 1/4" tall by 3/4" across, with a 3/32" hole
All my beads are kiln annealed for durablility.

I would be happy make this bead into a pendant for you. I offer several different sterling silver bale and bead cap designs in two different sizes. You can find them in my listings. Just choose the size, add it to your cart, and include a note telling me which bale and bead cap style you prefer. I would be happy to send a photo of what the piece would look like with your choices. Your bead will arrive ready to wear.

Don't panic, Etsy will add the shipping charge for the pendant parts and you will pay for it along with the shipping charge for the bead but once I buy the shipping label, Etsy will allow me to refund the cost of the shipping for those sterling parts. I'm sorry but I can't figure out how else to do it.

Thank you for visiting my shop.

I mail the beads, with a confirmation, through PayPal or Etsy's shipping label service. I use First Class shipping. Whether I am buying or selling, I believe in fast service. I usually mail beads within 24-48 hours of payment. Of course, weekends do slow things down a bit. If you prefer Priority Mail within the US, you can select this when placing your order.

Each bead is sent in a nice gift box which is wrapped in bubble wrap and is then mailed in a bubble envelope. In the case of multiple orders, I usually place two or three beads in one box, according to how they fit.

Customs Declarations, are filled out automatically by Etsy when I buy a shipping label. You will recieve the Customs shipping number. The cost of shipping which you pay when you make a purchase from my shop, covers only the cost of shipping. If your country has a Value Added Tax, you will be responsible for the extra expense. If you are concerned about this extra tax, please check with an official in your country before placing an order. Please allow several weeks for delivery of international packages. It does not always take weeks for a package to arrive but for some reason, there are occasionally long delays within the mailing entities. I have no control over this. I sincerely hope you do not suffer a long delay!

I prefer PayPal or a credit card payment through Etsy but will hold beads until I receive a check or money order. I do wait for checks to clear before I mail the bead.

Returns & exchanges

I want you to be happy with the bead. It is hard to know whether my computer monitor and yours are showing the same colors. So far, I have not run into trouble with color conflicts. However, if you have a problem with one of my beads, please contact me within a few days of receiving it. I won't refund the shipping cost but if you choose to return the bead, I will refund the price of the bead.

Additional policies

When I do bead shows, I offer some of my beads as pendants that are ready to wear. I will offer some of those finished pieces on my Etsy site but if you see a bead you like and you would like to have it made into a finished pendant with sterling parts, please feel free to contact me. Generally, I charge $10-$15 for the sterling silver parts. The price depends on the size of the bail needed. The bail is the decorative part that the chain goes through. The price includes the sterling headpin, two sterling bead caps, a sterling bail and the labor to put it all together. I would be happy to do this for you. Just contact me before or after you buy the bead. I can provide a photo of the bail and bead caps.
