Item #OSS-102 is a 17mm x 8mm Oregon Sunstone that is a fancy-cut rectangle with difficult to cut concave facets on the back. The weight is 6.5 ct. The shiny areas are copper schiller, one of the unique features found in some Oregon Sunstones. This rare stone is only found in south eastern Oregon. This is one of the stones we found during the time we spent working at one of the private Sunstone claims. Phil dug this stone but did not facet at that time. A friend, John Field, cut this for us and it is call the "Montana" cut. This is much better than normal faceting and has a superior polish.
