Here is my big, super-detailed, step by step, 89 pages, 170 photos distressed leather bookbinding tutorial!
In this tutorial I show you how to create a medieval long stitch journal with leather soft-covers [or, if you're not comfortable with using real leather, then vegan "leather" will work just fine].
NO PROFESSIONAL TOOLS OR SUPPLIES ARE NEEDED - all you need is on the first 3 pictures!
I will take you through all the proces: from choosing and preparing paper, to creating and adjusting the distressed leather cover, sewing, making special knots and finishing it. All in very detailed way. So if you've never made a book before - that's a great way to start. I share many workshop tricks and tips that you can also use with other crafts.
All you will need:
- a piece of leather [or vegan "leather"]
- strap of cardboard
- long ruler
- triangle [or a hardcover book] - AND THAT'S IT! :)
The tutorial is split in two PDF files, around 10Mb each - instand download, you'll have then in a seconds.
If you have any technical questions or got stuck at some point, feel invited to send me a convo and I'll be happy to assist you.
If you'd like to make a book using this tutorial and then sell it - I'm perfectly OK with this - it's your work after all :) Just please, leave a little note in the description that is was made based on WolfPath Studio's method - that little line will be enough.
And: please, don't redistribute this tutorial. I've spend a crazy amount of time and work on this, so please respect it and don't post, share, pin or reproduce it in any way. Thank you!
