Luscious hand spun pure merino and silk yarn in gelati tonings. The skein is of soft merino plied with a co-ordinating silk handspun thread - and spinning these was a joy! The colours range from blues and greens to yellows, apricot, pinks and mauves, and the silk thread adds lightness and sheen. The average number of wraps per inch is between 11 and 12, making the wool roughly equivalent to DK or 8 ply.
I can picture this being used to provide subtle shading in a scarf, either knitted, crocheted or woven, or any other item where soft colour variations are needed. Handling the skein has made me realise how drapeable it is! The yarn is soft and non-irritating to skin, so it can be safely used in a garment.
I try to accurately photograph the colours, but know that some screens are better than others at reproducing them correctly. If you are unsure, please contact me and I will happily send you a sample of the yarn.
