Item details

Extended Use License for a single Design from The Savvy Mermaid. This grants the user rights to up to 1,000 items sold commercially using a single design from "The Savvy Mermaid". Designate which purchased design file you want this attached to in your order notes. I will email you a Commercial Use license with the File name included on it.

All other standard Terms of Use that are listed in the description of the file purchased from The Savvy Mermaid still apply.

A separate Extended Use license must be purchased for each individual design purchased from The Savvy Mermaid.

The Savvy Mermaid retains all copyright protection. You MAY NOT represent the artwork as your own. All terms of use included with the design purchase, that are not related to restrictions on commercial use between 101-1,000 items, still apply.

Not following terms of the license can void your license. Voided licenses will not be eligible for refunds.

FAQs

Conveniently, the files are stored on Etsy’s server, & are available for “immediate” download in your Etsy account. To find your files, go to www.Etsy.com and log in to your account. In the top right corner click on “You” and then click on “Purchases and Reviews”. When your purchases page comes up, scroll down until you find your order & files purchased from The Savvy Mermaid. Once you find that order, look to the far right & you will see a rectangle box that says “Download Files”. Click on that box to download the zip file, as well as the tips page for Silhouette or Cricut Users if needed. You will then open that folder, & extract or unzip the file folder so that you can open it up in your chosen software or app.

The watermarked picture you downloaded, is actually not your purchased file. That is only the one used for the Item Listing picture. Your purchase includes at least 1 zip file. See the above question for step by step instructions on how and where to download all of your Etsy purchased files.

For Cricut Design Space – Once the entire design is selected, OR Ctrl-A, click on Actions, and then choose “Ungroup”. For Silhouette Studio – Once the entire item is selected (or “Ctrl – A”), at the top, click on Objects – and then scroll down in that menu and click on “Ungroup”.

The letters of a classic 3 letter monogram are a not a “font” that will be typed out on your computer. In the listing it states that personalization with Monograms or Names are not included in the purchase, and that the letters or fonts to create these are not included in the purchase. Around 99% of customers already have a 3 letter monogram file they have used previously, and use that with their file. If you don’t have a monogram from a previous project, some options are: 1) Use a single letter initial in your favorite font. 2) If you use Cricut or Silhouette, you can purchase individual letters in their design stores and align them yourself. 3) Purchase an add-on listing from my shop & I can create one for you.

HTV shrinks just slightly when pressed. For multi-layered designs, I recommend a quick press of 1-2 seconds. This is just enough time to get the carrier sheet to peel off & leave the HTV on the fabric. Once all layers are in place, cover the design with a carrier sheet, Teflon sheet, or parchment paper. Then press at normal temp & time. This will prevent or reduce the gaps & scorching of pieces put on first. If using HTV, you may also use your software & do a very tiny offset or outline & have your software “Cut Edge” to add a little extra to compensate for the shrinkage. The designs are made so that they can be done with standard vinyl. If I were to just adjust all files, there would be problems using standard vinyl in layers.

You will be able to use a basic “Crop” tool to remove most or all of the extras on your JPG or PNG files. Any extra after that can be trimmed around. If you do not have a photo editor or viewing program on your computer already, I would recommend using Ribbet.com. It is free, does not require you to download or install any programs, and you will not need to set up any account to use it. You will start with clicking on “Upload file”, crop the image to fit your project needs, and then save your newly cropped file to your computer. If you still have any issues after that, please, feel free to contact me for assistance! I want you to be successful in your project, and am here to help as much as possible.

When there is a lot of white in a printable design it is usually best to use the JPG files. The PNG file has a transparent gray background, and so the light gray outlines can be hard to see. If you open the JPG file, it has a white background and you should see them there. In most cases, I do not make the outlines very thick, so that you won’t have to include a dark or colored outline that may not work well with the shirt color or the picture you have in mind for your completed item. However, if you do not see the outlines, need them darker, need them in a different color, or need them thicker, please contact me and I will do that for you at no charge. It does not take me long to do this, and I will have it back to you ASAP!
