Item details

This dress was worn by the pioneer women who lived a hard life settling the American prairie in the 19th century. Traditionally, the prairie dress was worn with a separate apron. Dress length can be mid-calf or ankle length, designed to be comfortable yet very feminine. There are also embroidery instructions to add your own finishing touch.

A soft fabrics such as calico, gingham, muslin, lightweight cotton, rayon, or wool challis will work nicely for the dress. For the apron, choose light or medium-weight cotton such as gingham, broadcloth, or muslin.

The pattern has cutting lines for Misses sizes small, medium, and large. There are embroidery instructions along with a brief history of this style of dress.

Folkwear has been around for a long time and still is. These patterns are new, not used or vintage. Ursula's Alcove is a licensed dealer
