Brought to you by our friends at Hashnu Stones using Glenn Klein’s Strontium Titanate Cut, we are thrilled to offer this spectacular 77.5 ct Lithium Niobate gem for sale.
Lithium Niobate (LiNbO3) is a synthetic gem with tremendous dispersion and a refractive index of 2.3, which was first introduced in 1959 as a diamond simulant.
Although it is still used extensively in fiber optics, cell phones, lasers and other applications, it is not often used a diamond simulant any longer. Now considered more of a collectors’ stone, it has become increasingly rare to find a faceted Lithium Niobate gem- especially one in this incredible size.
Due to the extreme dispersion of Lithium Niobate, the sparkle, flash, and color that this massive gem displays is truly remarkable! This is certainly a spectacular, one-of-a-kind museum piece!
