1960s Polaroid Camera, Model J66 Electric Eye Land Camera, With Manual, Carrying Case, 47 Film B&W, Collectible, Accordion Folding Cameras
Great collectible early 1960s Polaroid Model J66 Electric Eye Land Camera, complete with manual, brown carrying case, flash bulbs, and print coaters.
This camera was manufactured between 1961 and 1963. At the time, it had a price tag of $89.50 USD, which would be the equivalent of roughly $700 in 2016. A hefty price tag for a very hefty camera. This camera is quite large in size, and very complex in functionality. This was the only camera in the world to take and develop its own photos, at the time.
The camera measures approximately 9.5" long, 5" tall, and 2.5" thick.
The film for this camera, type 47 3000 speed Polaroid land film, is no longer made. May be able to be converted to 120 non-instant film. It packs an f/19 plastic meniscus lens mated to a pneumatic rotary shutter that operates from 1/15 to 1/1000 sec (4 speeds). It uses a selenium cell (not in place currently) to set exposure; there is no manual exposure control. Other specs & details include:
-Pull-out camera front/shutter housing (squeeze lock releases as shown in manual to close)
-Foldable flash gun (AG-1 bulbs)
-Much more info & detailed instructions in manual.
Also included are 5 tubes of B&W film print coaters, and a pack with a few flash bulbs, all of which are likely no longer working. Additionally, the original manual will be included, with lots of great tips and tricks for this lovely collectible camera.
Please note that this camera has not been tested with film, so it is being sold "as is". I see no cosmetic issues that would prevent the camera from operating just fine. Camera is in good condition with only slight signs of wear from age - please refer to photos, which are enlarged to show detail. Carrying case is in overall good condition with slight marks of wear and age to spots, please refer to photos.
Case measures 11" x 10" x 3.75"
