Tabebuia Chrysotricha Also known as the Golden Trumpet Tree
A beautiful deciduous evergreen from Brazil. Once established it can reach a height of 25 to 35 feet. It eventually covers itself in very showy clusters of golden yellow bell flowers that are 2-3" long. It can even develop low flowering branches, for a full rounded look. Flowering starts at a young age and nurseries will often have them blooming in ten-inch pots.
Very popular for its dazzling blooming display when the tree lacks leaves in late Winter/ early Spring. Most will flower unpredictably throughout the year. Plant it in a open area with full sun. Once established they are hardy down to 24F, no matter what zone your in. They grow fast, and resist salt spray. The flower buds, leaves, and young stems are all covered with a brown fuzz. Highly rich in nectar, making it a great honey tree.
