Item details

This is a rosy silver (it's silver ... ish) grown by our big, sweet Silverado. Its unique coloring comes from the blending of her gunmetal silver base coat with her dark brown spots.

This yarn is 100% New England grown, from beloved, happy animals on our New Hampshire farm. It is 100% northeast processed at a custom mill in Pennsylvania.

This yarn is a 3-ply bulky with a slick feel.

Each skein is approximately 100 yards and right around 2.5 ounces.

The first photograph depicts the yarn with flash; the 2nd depicts the yarn under natural lighting. The photo with flash is a more accurate representation of color. Please note that, due to differences in device screen resolution, the actual color may vary slightly from the photograph.

FAQs

We recommend hand-washing your finished alpaca garment, and air-drying it by laying it on a dry towel on a flat surface. Alpaca does not shrink the same way wool does, but it does stretch, so we advise against hanging your garment as this can stretch it out. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any further questions!

At this time, we are sorry to say that we do not take custom requests for yarn, roving, or finished garments. We DO have raw alpaca fiber available for sale by the ounce. Please contact us for more information if interested, and we would be happy to make a custom listing for you.

The photo cannot fully capture the beauty of the natural color of this yarn. Read the Howling Hill Farm blog to find out how special harlequin appaloosas are. The yarn is truly exquisite. Sorry, I bought the rest of it!
