... Nautilia reminds me of sea. Of infinity. Nautilia - a spiral twining around another spiral in a similar way as do our lives. For me it is a symbol of development, a way of life, a narrow road turning larger and wider. The more we broaden our horizons the more opportunities we have. It is only within our power if we use them. Moreover, the spiral reminds me of constant cyclical repetition. We come back to the places we have already visited but with new experience and further ahead.
Polymer clay Nautilia can serve as a brooch or it can accentuate a jacket lapel or a sweater. Nautilia are also striking earrings or a pendant. The design can be used for a bracelet or a necklace composed of individual spirals. In the tutorial below I will show you several possibilities of how to work with Nautilia. I hope you enjoy the creation with Nautilia as well as I always do.
This tutorial includes instructions on how to create your own earrings, a brooch, a silk screen brooch, a pendant and a round pendant.
You learn how to: - create mounds/baking racks for Nautilia - prepare colour sheets - shape Nautilia - texture jewellery and use other techniques of surface treatment (work with embossing powders, silk screen) - make and assemble jewellery (earrings, brooches, a pendant and a round pendant)
Furthermore, the tutorial contains colour inspiration in the form of miscellaneous colour and shape variations of Nautilia.
