Hard-to-find Royal Imperial Jasper with beautiful color. This cab includes the unusual colors of pale orange, ivory, and aqua. Its organic outline and lovely colors remind us of a tropical island!
Royal Imperial Jasper nodules were collected primarily in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, north of the small town of San Christobal de las Casas, which is in the state of Chiapas.
Imperial Jasper is considered to be one of the five fine jaspers, and the designation "Royal" refers to this rare and unusual type that occurs as small nodules in the host rock with a soft white or orangish chalky outside. Royal Imperial Jasper is known for often showing a pattern of overlapping ovals or "egg" pattern. The deposit our cabs come from is the finest, largest deposit with this patterning in the world to date.
We hand-picked the nodules from our supplier, choosing only those with the best color and pattern, and cut and polished them in our studio. When you use one in your jewelry, you will enjoy attention and many questions about what this unusual material is!
These Royal Imperial Jasper cabs are well suited to setting with handmade prongs. The front is smooth, highly polished, and ever-so-slightly domed. The back is flat and unpolished.
Size: 32mm x 20mm (at widest points). Fairly uniform 4mm thick tapering to 2mm at one point.
Our Royal Imperial Jasper cabs are beautifully organic with lots of natural irregularities. Please see all photos for the best overall perspective on the cab before your purchase.
