This listing is for the download of a PDF sewing pattern to make a girl's western show jacket or blouse in Girls Sizes 2-16 (see sizing chart). It is NOT for a physical paper pattern. Both jacket and blouse are made from non-stretch fabric and are unlined. The View A jacket has a standup collar and lapels, a zippered front, and plain sleeves. The View B blouse has an oversized peaked collar and cuffs in a contrasting fabric. The collars and the View A lapels are held in place with hook-and-loop tape. These basic tops are ready for your embellishments!
The photos are of garments made by SuitAbility customers using a previous version of this pattern (see below) and are not for sale. Credits: aqua jacket by Lorena Thompson, rose jacket by Gramma Lee, and turquoise jacket by Jenna Persons (all embellishments by these customers- not included in the pattern). To see a photo of the View B blouse, please see our listing for the women's version of this pattern.
The PDF file includes instructions illustrated with diagrams and the jacket and blouse pattern pieces. The sizes are nested. Download the file using Adobe Reader and print out the pages using 8 1/2" by 11" or A4 paper. Please read the instructions first to see how to print out either view.
For View A use medium weight woven and stable knit fabrics. For the View B blouse use lighter weight fabrics for the bodice and medium weight woven fabric for the contrasting collar and cuffs. Use a lighter weight one-way separating zipper for either view. The zipper pull is visible, so choose the color of the zipper to be a design accent. If you can’t find the exact length in the color you want, buy a longer zipper and shorten it per the pattern instructions.
Fabric yardages are given above.
Also needed: Thread, double-sided sew-through basting tape, VIEW A: six inches of 2/4” wide hook-and-loop tape, 16” one-way separating zipper; VIEW B: two 5/8” buttons, four inches of 3/4” wide hook-and-loop tape, 20” one-way separating zipper.
PLEASE NOTE: This PDF pattern is the same basic jacket as in the discontinued SuitAbility paper version Pattern 5599, View A, and the same blouse as in Pattern 5599, View C.
Your files will be available to download once payment is confirmed. Here's how.
