Item details

Here is one 500-yard skein of Cat Mountain Fiber Arts Hand Painted Yarn. The color is "Earth" a blend of black, chestnut, and eggplant. This yarn is lovingly hand dyed in our studio in the Southern Colorado Rocky Mountains.

Cat Mountain Fiber Arts Yarn is a fusion of color and texture! We take between 2 and 10 types of yarn and skein them together for dyeing which results in a delicious effect that is irresistible on the skein on in a garment! Please note, this yarn does NOT consist of short lengths of different yarns tied together.

The skein shown consists of 100 Yards of each of the following yarns:

78% Mohair/13% Wool/9% Nylon
35% Baby Alpaca/30% Merino/30% Bamboo/5 % Nylon
75% Merino Wool/20% Silk/5% Stellina (sparkle)
60% Merino Wool/40% Bamboo
100% Wool

Your purchase will include a free pattern for the "Basic Triangle Shawl" the "Moebius Cowl" or the "Woodland Capelet" designed by Kimberly Perkins. The garments in the photos are not included in this listing - this listing is for the yarn and pattern only. This 500 yard skein will make the shawl or the cowl or the Capelet shown in the photos (not both). The shawl in the photo is in our "Aurora Borealis" Colorway; the cowl is in the "Ancient Mariner" Colorway, and the Capelet is in the "Wood Nymph" Colorway. These patterns are available for free on Ravelry of you would like to look at them before purchasing yarn.

The shawl and Capelet patterns are rated as "easy" techniques used are knit, purl, yarn over, using stitch markers, and knit two together. The cowl pattern uses Cat Bordhi's moebius cast on, which is an intermediate technique, and knits and purls.

More details about this yarn and projects that can be made from it are available on Ravelry - search for kimberlyknitter.

This yarn is also available with a wool/donegal tweed blend substituted for the wool/sparkle in the event that you prefer no bling - just send me a message and I can make sure you get a skein with tweed instead of sparkle.

All skein sizes are available in all colorways, but I generally only list a few at a time to keep my costs down. If you see a color you want that is not listed, just send me a message and I will get a listing up for you right away!
