Item details

A must for refinishing or repairing an antique trunk! These handle straps are hand made one at a time and fully stitched, just like the originals. I use two layers of strap leather back-to-back for a finished, top grain surface on front and back. They are really heavy duty. The edges are properly beveled and slicked to a smooth finish. The leather is dyed, oiled, and "broken" for just the right vintage look. ("Breaking" is the simple process of working the leather back and forth while the neets foot oil is freshly applied. It makes the strap more flexible, and imparts a nice aged appearance.)

Available in 8 1/2" and 11" lengths in your choice of brown, black, or tan.

Sold individually, and priced "each".

* Thank you to Terry Hunter for the nice picture of one of the straps installed on a trunk!
