The jewelry in this Etsy shop is from the collection and store inventory of my mother, Marcia Grunewald. She collected antique jewelry from the early 1960s until she passed away in 2000. She and my father started their antique store in Galena, IL in 1973. They did antique shows in the midwest and southeast for 27 years. She accumulated a vast inventory of high quality 18th and 19th Century jewelry and marvelous, unusual, whimsical items. We will be presenting some of it here at our Etsy shop.

Shipping fees are non-refundable.
All domestic orders over $50 are ship via USPS Priority Mail. Tracking information is provided. Insurance costs are determined by the value of the item being shipped. All orders under $50 are shipped USPS first class.
Once your order leaves Grunewald Antiques, it is out of our control. For questions and concerns about shipping, please contact the carrier.


We accept credit cards and Paypal. Items may be returned, but the shipping cost for returns is the customer's responsibility.

Returns & exchanges

We try to show everything about each item, all the good and any flaws it might have. We understand that sometimes an antique piece of jewelry isn't what you expected when you see it in person. We do take returns of items that are returned in the same condition as when they were shipped. There will be no refunds on items damaged in shipping. You must file a claim with the carrier. There will be no refunds on items damaged by the customer or damaged by the use of cleaners inappropriate for the jewelry.
*Insurance Claims:
*If an insurance claim is needed, this is now it works. I must have you available till the claim is accepted, meaning, I can not refund you immediately. If an item is lost, I must wait 45 days [as in the Etsy Policies] to make a claim. If an item has any other issue regarding delivery, I will refund you once all of the required paperwork & statements are made, that means I need you to make a legal statement to the insurance company of what has occurred. It is required. This all works if your country is insurable, not all countries are in this category.

Additional policies

We make every effort to point out any flaws or damage to our merchandise, but the nature of antiques is that like-new perfection is not guaranteed. We wrap items securely and double-box and have had no claims of damage due to shipping.
