Vintage 1950s Men's / Boys' Costume Sewing Pattern Butterick 6248 Size 6-8 New FF
Pattern and instructions for men's / boys' COSTUMES FOR MASQUERADE OR FANCY DRESS Group of four masquerade costumes for youngsters or grown-ups: (a) The droll penguin in colorful contrast. (B) The playful kitten. (C) The amusing monkey. (D) Gay and mischievous devil costume complete with "horns" and flowing cape.
Pattern is new, unused / uncut in factory-folded (FF) condition. The envelope has aged as seen by the slight discoloration shown in the photos and there are a few small tears along the top edge, but the instructions and pattern pieces are 100% intact.
This design is marked for a Size 6-8 which is listed as a 26" Breast measurement though I would not be concerned with the sizing if the style and shape are right for your project. There are an endless number of websites and blogs offering step-by-step instructions on how to accurately resize vintage sewing patterns for the perfect fit.
Although the exact date of this pattern is unknown, the evolution of Butterick's method of sizing their patterns places it between 1956 and 1966.
