Pinks - a Spanissheworke Counted Blackwork Design PATTERN from Practical Blackwork
This is a digital file
"Pinks" is an original, "period appropriate" counted blackwork design in historic style, inspired by design drawings in "A Scholehouse for the Needle" (1632) and numerous depictions of carnations/pinks in 16th-century portraits, embroideries, and textiles. It is suitable for the decoration of historic and modern clothing, household linens, and whatever else the stitcher can imagine.
Includes charts for embroidering a neckband for a "square necked" smock or shirt, a front-opening shirt, different sized bands for cuffs, collars, stripes, etc, and several small designs for use as spot motifs, pincushions, needlebooks, and sundry other useful and decorative objects.
SQUARE NECKBAND DIMENSIONS - At 14 stitches/inch, the INSIDE dimensions are approx. 7.43"wide x 5.29" deep.
Stitch counts of other major elements noted on charts.
