Marked "JAMES A AUTUN". The French saddlery and Armory was founded in 1824 and is still famous for its saddles; leather products and guns.
Used to cut leather, still sharp and functional, no rust.
Excellent hold, the thumb of the right hand fits beautifully into the loop on the left (picture 3).
Massif heavy iron. Lots of character for display, but also very useful!
A lot of history, tradition and French workmanship at its very best!
