FABRIC, AFRICAN FABRIC, Quilt Fabric, Quilting Supplies, Art Quilt Fabric, Quilting Material, Cotton Fabric, The Fiber Goddess
This gorgeous art quilt fabric with is produced in South Africa using, photosensitive dyes, combined with the natural light of the sun, and leaves. This hand dyed, cotton, landscape fabric can only be dyed on the hottest days between September and May (which is spring and summer in South Africa) when there is no wind to disturb the leaves. The transformation takes place after a few hours of the fabric being left in the sun. When the leaves have been removed, like magic, the sun, and the dye have worked together to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind fabric for your art quilts.
Each piece has been pre-washed to remove any excess dye and has been pressed. If you plan to place the fabric next to white or a very light colored fabric, I suggest that you wash it first to make certain every bit of the dye has been removed. You may also use Synthrapol, which is a special detergent for removing excess dye from the fabric.
COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: South Africa

NOTE: BECAUSE THIS FABRIC HAS BEEN HAND DYED, THE DESIGN IS RANDOM. ALTHOUGH EACH PIECE OF FABRIC HAS BEEN CUT FROM THE SAME YARDAGE, THE PIECE YOU RECEIVE MAY DIFFER FROM THE PHOTOS. HOWEVER, THE COLOR WILL BE THE SAME.
