My little sister is having her first baby and so of course I had to design something especially for the little dude. (We know she’s having a boy).
As she lives in a pretty cold climate, I wanted to make a nice snugly woollen blanket for when they’re out and about walking. There are no holes for little fingers and toes to get caught up in and it’s much the same on both sides.
I used lovely organic wool made here in Australia from Australian Organic Wool (also known as Woolganics). My blanket is about 70cm x 95cm (27.5” x 37.5”approx.)
I think this pattern is easy enough for beginners with a simple 4 row pattern repeat and a lovely easy border that finishes the blanket off nicely.
Pattern Features : I want you to be able to make this blanket with confidence, so you’ll find lots of help sprinkled throughout the pattern.
I have links to my videos of the stitches you’ll need so you can be sure you’re doing the right stitch
After the pattern, you’ll find some hints and tips that will lead you through any steps that may trip you up with clear photos showing exactly what to do where.
You can print off the pattern on its own and save on printing and paper.
For those of you who prefer to work from crochet charts, you’ll find that included
So you can keep track of your stripes and pattern repeats, I’ve included a handy Stripe Tracker you can print off and mark as you go.
