This listing is for a 4 ounce braid of organic mohair roving in a natural gray. It is a beautiful blend of grays, with streaks of black and white and has excellent handle, softness, sheen, and that telltale mohair "halo." This roving spins up beautifully for all weights of yarn! This wool takes dye easily and the natural gray color will give dyes that pretty heathered look!
This roving is 100% organic -- it was raised on Hard Earth Farm in Modoc, SC, where alpacas, sheep, and goats are raised without the use of any chemicals! They graze on pastures that are never treated with pesticides or herbicides. Their shepherdess utilizes old world medicine and essential oils to care for the medical needs of her animals. All animals at Hard Earth are lovingly raised and humanely sheared. Phoenix Farm Fiber is committed to supporting small farms and fiber producers like Hard Earth Farm and we believe that the efforts they are making create a valuable and sustainable product. Your purchase of this mohair roving will help further their mission and support the domestic production of organic fibers!
This fiber is stored in a smoke- and pet-free environment. It is ready for you to spin, felt, or use for a variety of crafting needs! This fiber braid would make a wonderful prop for infant photography or a nice, textured basket filler as well.
