Item details

Vintage early 1900s Child's Smocked Dress pattern ~ 1898 through 1910s ~ Downton Abbey period.

Three different views.

Child's Dress - Falling Free or Drawn in at French Depth, with body and sleeve in one. High or any round neck, full-length or Shorter Sleeve, with or without the smocking.

Envelope is in poor condition ~ many tears and paper is deteriorated but intact and readable ~ all pattern pieces, including the smocking chart is included, as well as the instruction sheet ~ some edges of pattern are browned, but all are in good, usable condition.

Size appears to be One Year Old ~ Bust 20" ~ edge has broken off so it's hard to tell for certain.

Don't let the size discourage you if you have an older toddler ~ Any pattern can be converted to a larger or smaller size using tracing paper and extending a line through the grain line. Directions on how is shown in Patterns of Fashion V. 1 by Janet Arnold, page 75.

I'm destashing and selling patterns I haven't the time to grade into a different size.

This pattern would be great for anyone who is into re-enacting the Downton Abbey period and has young children they would also like to costume.
