For sale here is a PDF embroidery pattern pattern, which will guide you though creating a bright embroidery of some wildflowers and berries. Also included as a separate PDF is a stitch guide, covering how to do some basic embroidery stitches.
The pattern is nine pages long and contains the following-
- A title page, with a large image of the finished embroidery
- A page covering things you will need to stitch the pattern
- Basic information about how you might want to transfer your pattern to fabric, and a discussion of some alternative ideas for how you could make your finished embroidery look a bit different, if you wanted to :)
- Two pages of guidelines on how to stitch the pattern
- A page with four extra images on
- A short guide to how to frame your embroidery in a hoop
- A slightly simpler version of the pattern, facing in both directions
- The pattern (again facing in both directions) with all of the veins marked on the flowers and leaves etc. I have included two versions, as it can be easier to just transfer the simpler version and then refer to the other version to just copy where some of the more fiddly small stitches are placed.
The pattern assumes a small amount of knowledge of stitching, but is quite suitable for someone with basic skills, and would hopefully be enjoyable for a more advanced embroiderer too :)
The pattern is sized for a 6" hoop.
I will also offer support via Etsy messages after purchase, should you need help with anything :)
Please note that this pattern has quite bold lines to make transferring it to fabric easy if you are using the tracing method. This means that it won't work too well if you use the method of printing it directly onto fabric to transfer it, as it will have quite chunky lines which may be harder to cover with stitches. It will work well for other transfer techniques though :)
This pattern doesn't include a list of thread colour numbers, as I use different makes of thread as well as DMC, and like to encourage people to 'use their stash' and explore using different threads, rather than feeling they have to buy specific colours :)
Please note that this is a digital download and you won't receive a physical object :) A PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat is required to open the pattern. Each page of the pattern is A4 size, when printing I recommend selecting the A4 paper option and 'fit to size' to ensure that the pattern prints out at the right size :)
This pattern is for non commercial use only. Please feel free to use it to make items for yourself or as gifts, but not to sell. Not to be redistributed in any form.

How do your PDF patterns work?
When you purchase a PDF pattern from my Etsy shop, you will be able to download two files: one containing the pattern itself, along with information about how to stitch it, and one containing a stitch guide, which will tell you how to do some basic embroidery stitches. The PDFs will require a programme such as Adobe Reader to open in. It is best to view the pattern at 100% so you are seeing the images in the size they were intended.
Patterns can be printed to allow them to be easily transferred onto fabric using the method described or a method of your choice, and also to allow you to refer to the instructions off screen. Each page is A4 size, so to ensure your pattern prints at the right size, chose A4 paper and select 'fit to size' The PDFs can also be viewed on phones and tablets which have appropriate PDF viewing software, this can be useful if you like to carry your stitching with you away from the computer.
What if I need more help stitching a pattern I have purchased from you?
You are always welcome to get in touch if you need any extra advice and assistance for stitching a pattern. There is no time frame for this, even if you purchased the pattern a year ago and are only just getting around to stitching it, you are still welcome to get in touch.
Do you take custom orders?
I do take on some custom orders for bird and flower embroideries; if you have something in mind, feel free to drop me a message :) I am always happy to stitch up my bird designs, so if you'd like a bullfinch, puffin or indeed any other bird for your wall but don't feel confident stitching it yourself, I can make one for you :)
I am no longer taking on pet portrait embroidery commissions, apologies for any inconvenience.
How should I care for a piece of embroidered hoop art which I have purchased from you?
To clean embroideries it is best to use a very soft dry cloth rather than a damp one to gently remove any dust. Very soft clean makeup brushes work well too. Although I use quality threads and fabrics, it is a good idea to keep your new embroidery out of direct sunlight as all textiles can fade.
Please note that my embroideries are not recommended for young children due to small parts such as beads etc.
I include a number of photos in my listings in an attempt to show the colour of my items accurately, however colours can vary between monitors so the embroidery may appear to be a slightly different colour in real life. If you happened to purchase an item and were unhappy with this in any way I would of course be happy to work with you to try to find a solution.
It would be lovely to know when your item has arrived safely and if you're happy with it; feedback is always much appreciated!
