Sterling Silver open jump rings made from twisted sterling silver wire. The diameter of the wire is American Gauge 20 which is approx. 0.81mm.
I wind the wire around a mandrel and saw cut it to make the rings. I then tumble polish the rings to smooth the cut edges and give them a nice shine.
Key Details: ~ Wire thickness 20 gauge (0.81mm) ~ Pack of 20 jump rings ~ Jump Rings are open ~ Size options are the INNER DIAMETER of the ring as it refers to the mandrel size used to make the rings.
Argentium Silver is slightly different to Sterling Silver in that it modifies that alloy by replacing some of the copper with germanium. As it contains at least 92.5% silver content of the traditional alloy, it is still referred to as sterling silver and meets the hallmarking requirements for the U.K. Britannia standard.
The addition of germanium means that Argentium is extremely slow to tarnish which is a great benefit to jewellery makers! Wikipedia has a good explanation of Argentium Silver for those wanting further information.
