One of our recently developed fantasy rovings - naturally colored fleeces with added lusciousness! This roving is from a gorgeous moorit or brown CVM wool ( California Variegated Mutant) 45%, fawn alpaca 45%, soysilk 5%, and sari silk waste 5%. It is next-to-skin soft to spin, knit, and wear. Staple length is approximately 4 inches, so it is very easy to spin and lends itself to whatever drafting method you prefer. It will spin easily from lace weight to worsted.
The inspiration for this roving is another classic rock song, "Brown Eyed Girl." Accenture colors streaked through the roving are red, gold, peachy orange.
All of our rovings feature US small farm fiber. This is a very rare breed of sheep. The breeders we use treat their animals like family. We buy individual fleeces directly from the person who raised the animal. We do a test spin and often a test knit on each roving or yarn to ensure quality and give you a better idea how the roving performs. This listing is for 4 ounces although we will sell in different quantities of one ounce increments. We ship our spinning fiber in boxes, not poly mailers, so there is no compression or felting. It should be perfect and luscious, ready to spin, direct from the box.
