My MP168 Dovetail Marking Gauge is ideal for both woodworker or tool collector, being accurate, beautiful, fully functional, and to be made in a strictly limited edition of five hundred pieces.
The rarity of each one is further enhanced as there are two basic sizes, and a number of wood combinations to choose from, and until production ceases, only I will know how many of each has been produced.
Functionally, the marking gauge will allow for both square and sloped marking lines to be made without moving it, and offers a choice of two dovetail slopes - 1:8 (predominantly for hardwoods), and 1:6 (predominantly softwoods). Please pick the size to suit the majority of your work - this is a case where bigger is not always better - or get one of each! The smaller sized marking gauges have a blade depth of approximately 1" (25mm), and fence capacity of approximately 1/2" (13mm) and are easier to use for small work, whilst the medium size are approximately 1-3/16" (30mm) and 5/8" (15mm), and less suitable for small work, but better for medium work.
Each marking gauge is initialled by myself, uniquely numbered, and it's owner recorded in a register (if buying as a gift, please supply the recipients name for this purpose).
Materials: When selecting material, the top square fence section is listed first, then the sloped blade section.
