Item details

This feather pendant in carved black horn has been crafted in fine detail by a Balinese artisan, and at 77mm is a generous size that makes it a perfect festival wear piece.

It's intended to hang from the shaft or quill, where there's a 2mm hole drilled left to right through the middle that can be best seen in my fourth photo. Hover the cursor over the photo and use the right arrow key to reach it.

If not wearing it as a pendant, you may choose to use wear it in your hair.

Each piece has been carved with partings in the vane of the feather, and while they're sturdy, you should take care not to snag the pendant.

Being black, you can interpret it as a raven feather, that of a crow, or even an Aussie magpie. There's also a white version in carved bone that you can see in my final photo, and find via the link below.

Please note that horn is not water safe and this item should not be worn in the shower, swimming pool, or surf. You can clean and condition it with a few drops of jojoba oil on a soft cloth.

PayPal is my preferred method of payment.

Material: This horn is from the domestic water buffalo, Bubalis bubalis, a bovine animal similar to the cow, used throughout Asia as a plough animal in the rice paddies that produce the staple food of this part of the world. The material used in Indounik products is sourced in Indonesia and the animals are not harmed for their bone or horn to be used in human ornamentation. It is a bi-product of animals that have come to the end of their life after being used for work and food - milk and sometimes meat.
Shipping: This item will ship from Bali via Pos Indonesia registered mail with a tracking number, and you will almost certainly have to sign for it upon delivery. I generally ship more quickly than than the 3-5 days listed in my shipping profile but sometimes need more time if it's rainy season or there are a lot of religious ceremonies which mean the post offices will be closed.
Extra info: As these are hand-carved, there may be slight variations between the piece you purchase and the ones you see in my stock photos on your screen.
