This is a digital file
These knitted slip stitch/mosaic style coasters work up fast, even for a beginner, and are a joy to watch come together! Try high contrast for a bright pop in any kitchen décor. They look great in the living room for an errant coffee cup, or tied up with a ribbon as a chic handmade gift.
This pattern works great in cotton or hemp yarn to absorb condensation from cups – but could also be done in acrylic or wool for a blanket square.
This pattern has been tested - testers found it worked up very quickly, about 3 hours from start to finish. This is a great housewarming or hostess gift, and easy enough to work up and keep on hand for last minute gift ideas.
PLEASE NOTE: This listing is strictly for a pattern, not a finished product.
Yarn: ~ 70 yards cotton yarn, DK or worsted weight. Sample used Bernat Handicrafter white and Isaac Mizrahi Craft (discontinued). Try Sugar ‘n’ Cream, Peaches & Crème, or other cotton yarn.
Needle: US 6 (4 mm) - gauge isn't too important, so feel free to go up or down for a different sized outcome.
Notions: Yarn needle for weaving in ends.
With recommended yarn & needles, the coasters will come out roughly 4" squares. This is easily adjusted by switching up yarn weight and/or needles used.
