Additional policies

*** Do Not Use Wallpaper Border, Murals, or Decals in a Steamy Bathroom.

Your bathroom is not the most ideal place to have wallpaper border, decals, or murals, because the typical bathroom is the most humid room in a home. Running a hot bath or taking a hot shower will make the entire bathroom steamy and filled with moisture. When this moisture settles on the wallpaper border, decals, or murals, it can do some damage or allow it to peel away or sag from the wall. In general, wallpaper border, decals, and murals all over your house should be protected, but this is especially important when it comes to them in your bathroom.

*** PLEASE BE ADVISED that wall decals do not adhere to walls painted with “zero VOC” or “VOC free” paint. It is not recommended that you apply our wall decals to walls that have been painted with this new, eco-friendly paint.

*** Newly Painted Walls Must "Cure" before adding wall decals

Paint “DRY” happens when the solvents evaporate from your paint coating leaving the paint feeling dry to the touch even though it is not 100% dry.
Paint “CURE” happens when your paint coating has reached it’s maximum hardness and is completely 100% dry.
When reading the label on your paint can, it will tell you the DRY time, not the CURE time.

How long does it take paint to dry and cure?

Water Based/Latex Paint ~ Dry Time 1-2 hours – Cure Time 21-30 days
Oil Based Paint ~ Dry Time 6-8 hours – Cure Time 3-7 days
Chalk Brand Paints ~ Dry Time 30-60 minutes – Cure time 30 days
Homemade Chalky Paint ~ Dry Time 30-60 minutes – Cure Time 21-30 days
Milk Paint ~ Dry Time 30 minutes – Cure time 30 days

Some factors which effect dry/cure time.

The thickness of your paint
The surface it’s painted on eg. wood/melamine/dry wall/concrete/canvas etc.
The sheen of the paint eg. flat/eggshell/satin/semi-gloss/high-gloss
The brand and type of paint eg. oil/latex/chalk/acrylic/milk paint
The color of the paint and tints used eg. longer drying time with dark colors
The overall condition of where it is left to dry eg. air flow/humidity/temperature
The number of coats applied

To check if your paint is dry, touch an inconspicuous area with your finger. If the paint is not tacky and feels dry to the touch, it is dry.

To check if your paint is cured, do the fingernail test. In an inconspicuous area, press your fingernail into the paint. If it leaves an indent your paint is not fully cured. If no indent is visible and the surface is hard, your paint has cured.

The stickers work best on flat walls with clean, dry flat paint. They will work on other surfaces with varying degrees of success. When you get your order, try a small sticker. If it doesn't stick well, there is a product that can be used to increase the adhesion. This product creates a stronger bond. You can get it at Staples or other office supply stores. It is made by 3M and it is called Super77. Put the sticker on the wall. Spray some adhesive into a paper cup. Using a small 1/2” brush, lift the edge of the sticker off the wall and paint the adhesive on the back of the sticker. Push the edge back on the wall. The sticker will stick within a few minutes as the adhesive dries. Be careful not to get Super77 on the face of the sticker. Lighter fluid can be used to clean excess glue, but may damage the sticker. If the walls are very glossy, you can try using Hi-Strength 90 by 3M.
