Create a quick and beautiful cuff bracelet using size 8/0 seed beads with either peyote or brick stitch. This pattern works up quickly so it can be worn the same day or makes a great last minute gift. The inspiration for this piece is from Sumi-e (Oriental brush painting). The plum branch is a common theme. The length of the bracelet (without clasp) is 6.14 inches and width is 1.24 inches.
Included with this PDF is a realistic pattern picture, a list of the beads used and how many of each color are needed, a bead graph, and written row-by-row instructions for peyote. Please note that this is not a tutorial and assumes basic knowledge of peyote/brick stitch. There are many sites on the internet you can check for a refresher if needed (check your favorite bead supply store website). The attached picture of a finished piece using this pattern demonstrates one way you can attach a clasp and embellish the edges.
I’ve included the reference number and name of the beads used when designing the piece (8/0 Miyuki Round Rocailles), but you can use whatever colors and make of 8/0 beads you prefer. The only caveat I'd offer is that different manufacturers of beads have slightly different sizes, so the finished piece may be larger/smaller than the measurements given, requiring a little adaptation. Also, some manufacturers produce more size/quality variation requiring significant initial culling. Just use beads that are approximately the same size when using the pattern.
Feel free to sell what you create from my patterns and tutorials, but please do not sell the pattern or make copies for others. If you sell the finished product, I would appreciate if you would note the design origins.
