"Acorns And Columbines" follows the needlework tradition of recording patterns and designs as a "samplar", like the Jane Bostocke (1597) and numerous other samplers of all sorts in museums everywhere, of a size to roll up and store in the embroiderer's basket or box. It showcases snippets of the first 10 Spanissheworke designs from Practical Blackwork.
It is charted to be worked in simple back and/or double-running stitches, in several colors of DMC cotton floss chosen for an "antique" look, but may be worked in any colors that suit the stitcher's tastes. It can be worked almost entirely reversible if wanted. Includes an alphabet for personalization.
STITCH COUNT - 110w x 374h as charted - at 14 stitches/inch, about 7.86"wide x 26.72" long stitched area.
