I call this one of my "hybrid" pendants. This is an authentic, antique, Art-Nouveau medal that was made in France. The French made these ornate medals for sports prizes. This one was for cycling. It is solid bronze plated with .800 silver. This dates to 1906. I gently ground the cyclist off the front and glued on a vintage, pot metal button. All the rhinestones in the button are new, Preciosa crystals in hematite. The 2 part epoxy resin I used to attach the button and glue in the stones is #7 on the MOHS scale for hardness. That means the adhesive dries with the hardness of quartz without being brittle.
